ikhawulwe ngegunya

aze azale unyana,

Jonga!  

Kuba sizalelwe umntwana,

sanikwa unyana; 

kwaye ulawulo luya   

kuba phezu kwegxalaba lakhe; 

kwaye igama lakhe liya

kubizwa ngokuba,        

nguMmagaliso, nguMcebisi, 

(nguThixo onaMandla,) 

nguBawo onguNaphakade,  

yiNkosana yoXolo.

And behold

He shall be born of Mary

at Jerusalem

she being        

a pure woman 

a precious

chosen vessel

and then

conceive

by the power of

the Holy Spirit

and bear a son,

the son of God

 

Look!

Because a child is born for us, 

a son is given;

and the government    

will be on his shoulders;

and his name will

be called, 

Wonderful, Counselor,

(The Mighty God,)

The Everlasting Father,

The Prince of Peace.
